by | Dec 4, 2023 | Chamber Groups, Composer, Ensembles, Premiere, Season Launch

From epic festivals to intimate backyard gigs, Ensemble Offspring’s fearless virtuosity shines in 2024.

Experience six programs of bold and diverse new music, featuring ten world premieres and genre-bending classics to ignite your sense of adventure!

Boasting both regional and urban tours, Ensemble Offspring’s 2024 season brings the hottest new sounds to remote communities and cities including Brisbane, Adelaide, Canberra, Melbourne and Hobart.

From rising stars to compositional heavyweights, the impressive list of world premieres includes works by Kate Moore, Elizabeth Jigalin, May Lyon, Bree van Reyk, Gemma Peacocke, Angus Davison and Holly Harrison.

Threaded throughout the season are modern classics from some of the ensemble’s favourite international composers including Fausto Romitelli, Sarah Hennies, Georges Aperghis, David Lang and Kaija Saariaho.

The ensemble are extremely excited to announce their 2024 resident artists!  “Joining the list of outstanding young performers to hold the position, saxophonist Alice Morgan is the 2024 Hatched Associate Artist. Current First Nations Composer in Residence James Henry will retain his position into 2024 as the program evolves into a biennial residency.”

“Bringing our Noisy Women Commission to a close is Hatched alumni Kirsten Milenko. Since 2017 the annual commission has strengthened our collaboration with outstanding creative women, and we’re proud that this program is no longer necessary, with 50% of all commissions going to female-identifying composers.”

Book a Season Subscription to save 15% on all six highlight concerts in Sydney, and enjoy the luxury of reserved seating and exclusive invitations to VIP functions.
