Sydney’s oldest Edwardian theatre, and with one of the best acoustics in Sydney, it is home to some of the most exciting chamber performances in Sydney today. In 2019 the Theatre celebrated 80 years since Doris Fitton reopened the Theatre and named it the Independent Theatre.
- Tickets: If you have selected 'Print at Home': You can show a ‘Print at home’ ticket with a bar code on your phone. If you don't have your ticket with you at arrival, Box Office staff can print for you.
- Box Office: Opens 1 hour before the performance and you can collect 'Box Office Collection' tickets at this time.
- Food and Beverages: Light snacks and refreshments are generally available for purchase from one hour before the performance time at the Theatre, or visit one of the many surrounding cafes and restaurants for something more substantial.
- Payments: No longer accepts cash.
- Accessibility: Level access through to the front seats of the Auditorium, accessed from the laneway to the left of the building. Two accessible bathrooms located adjacent to the front row in the Auditorium.
