Rowena Macneish is currently a contracted member of the Sydney Symphony cello section, a position she has held since participating in their Fellowship Program in 2005. After graduating from the Sydney Conservatorium, Rowena was awarded a scholarship to attend the Advanced Performance Program at the Australian National Academy of Music in Melbourne. She then won a full scholarship for two years to undertake postgraduate study at the Royal Academy of Music in London, studying with David Strange. During her time in the UK Rowena was a full-time member of Southbank Sinfonia and performed at Covent Garden, Queen Elizabeth Hall and at major music festivals throughout Europe.
